[CALL FOR APPLICATIONS] Young Researcher Prize 2025

From March 24, 2025 to June 15, 2025

The Métropole de Lyon and the City of Lyon, in association with the Université de Lyon, are launching a call for applications for the Young Researcher Prize 2025. Young researchers, you have until June 15, 2025 to submit your applications to be in with a chance of winning one of four prizes.

The Young Researcher Prize aims to promote the integrity and societal involvement of primary and applied research in the laboratories of the Université de Lyon. To express its interest in young researchers, the Métropole de Lyon and the City of Lyon are awarding three prizes in the following three main fields:

1. “Exact Science” Prize

Example: formal and natural science, chemistry, electronics, energy, civil engineering, process engineering, computer science, mathematics, earth science, networks and telecommunications, physics, geology, etc.

2. “Health and Life Science” Prize

Example: biology, oncology, infectiology, physiology, medicine, epidemiology, pharmacy, biotherapy, health technology, public health, etc.

3. “Human and Social Science” Prize

Example: disciplines that make up the humanities, social science, law, urban planning, political science, philosophy, sociology, history, geography, communication, languages, literature, art, etc.

The three prizes of €4,500 each will reward the scientific quality of the post-doctoral work, but also the investment of the applicants in the dissemination of scientific culture and their efforts to transmit their research to civil society.

A “Jury’s Favorite – Societal Issues and Challenges” Prize (also awarded €4,500) is the final prize to be awarded.
