PUI IMPULSE, a University Innovation Center serving the Lyon Saint-Étienne academic campus



PUI IMPULSE is a coordination facility supported by 19 founding institutions and more than 35 partners from the region’s innovation ecosystem. Together, they coordinate the innovation process resulting from public research on the Lyon Saint-Étienne academic campus, with two main objectives:
  • To increase the effectiveness and efficiency of actions to support innovation and its development;
  • To accelerate and intensify the flow of innovative projects coming out of research laboratories & to strengthen the capacity of these projects to transform society, in particular through the promotion of research findings, the creation of start-ups and the development of collaborative projects with companies.


The PUI IMPULSE programs are aimed at researchers, research and hospital staff, young researchers, doctoral students on the Lyon Saint-Étienne campus, and all those involved in innovation on the site.

THE PUI IMPULSE PROGRAMS

1. Discover

Training courses, workshops and immersive programs provide scientists with all the keys they need to unlock the potential of their projects for the market and/or society.

IMPULSE promotion workshops: webinars on innovation and promoting research
PhD workshops: webinars on innovation issues for young researchers and PhD students

2. Deepen

Programs specifically designed for the Lyon and Saint-Étienne scientific community to explore their entrepreneurial potential and the application of their research findings in the socio-economic world.

The START(H)ER program: three days dedicated to female researchers, focusing on the human aspect and sharing experiences
The Expl’Aura Bootcamp: three days of workshops to explore the potential of your research findings
The IMPULSE Researcher Program: a three-month immersive program dedicated to innovation and entrepreneurship

3. Getting started

Programs to support the emergence of these projects through dedicated funding and support.

► French Tech Lab early support and grants: ensure the feasibility of the technological development of the invention and secure the intellectual property and its commercial development
Objectif Laboratoire: funding for a deep tech diagnosis of an innovative student project conducted in a local public research laboratory

4. Materialize with impact

La Forge: a method for the systemic analysis of the environmental and social impact of industrial projects/start-ups, led by SATT PULSALYS and supported by PUI IMPULSE
