[ACADEMIC EVENT] 12th Science Week for the Manutech-SLEIGHT Graduate School of Research

From July 8, 2024 to July 10, 2024

From July 8 to 10, 2024, the Manutech-SLEIGHT Graduate School of Research held its 12th interdisciplinary week (the SLEIGHT Science Event) on the Manufacture campus at the Université Jean Monnet in Saint-Étienne.

This new summer edition focused on the theme of “Imaging in Manutech-SLEIGHT” and will bring together students and researchers from the Manutech-SLEIGHT community.
 

The program included:

► Lectures by 6 internationally renowned speakers:

  • Ruth SIMS (Inserm, Institut de la vision, Paris) – Subject: photonic microscopy
  • Olivier HAEBERLE (UHA, IRIMAS Lab, Mulhouse) – Subject: optical microscopy
  • Renaud PODOR (CNRS – ICSM Marcoule, L2ME, Bagnols-sur-Cèze) and Philippe STEYER (INSA Lyon, MatéIS Lab, Lyon) – Subject: electron microscopy
  • Sorina POP (CNRS, CREATIS Lab, Lyon) and Emmanuel BRUN (Inserm, Strobe Lab, Grenoble) – Subject: imaging for the medical field

► A “Junior Scientists” session to enable young researchers (PhD students, post-docs, etc.) to present the findings of their research on all topics covered by Manutech-SLEIGHT

► Tours of microscopy equipment: light sheet microscope (funded by CPER Lumex) and the NEOARM transmission electron microscope (funded by the Saint-Étienne Métropole)

► A Social Event organized at the Maison Hatier in Saint-Étienne

The OPTICA Student Chapter led by the ASESLEIGHT student organization also hosted an event open to all Manutech-SLEIGHT graduate students.

This event of scientific excellence, networking, exchanging ideas and discovering new themes was organized in partnership with the Research Group – GdR (Groupe de Recherche) – CNRS IASIS (Information, Apprentissage, Signal, Image et ViSion – Information, Learning, Signal, Image and ViSion). SSE#12 is funded by the French National Research Agency (ANR) as part of the France 2030 Plan, and by Saint-Étienne Métropole.
