[ACADEMIC EVENT] The CER-UdL held its January seminar
On The January 16, 2025
The Université de Lyon’s Research Ethics Committee (CER-UdL - Comité d'éthique de la recherche) held a seminar on January 16 to define its working strategies for the coming year.
Established in 2022, the Université de Lyon’s Research Ethics Committee (CER-UdL) supports researchers who wish to ensure the ethics of their research protocols (except for research involving human subjects or animal testing).
The last plenary session of the Research Ethics Committee on December 12, 2024, saw the reappointment of the Committee’s board:
- Humbert de Fréminville, CER-UdL Chair;
- Agnès Witko, CER-UdL Vice-Chair;
- Lesly Fornoni, CER-UdL Secretary.
To kick off 2025, the CER-UdL met on January 16, 2025 and set its working strategies for the coming year, in addition to examining research protocols. These priorities include:
- The roll-out of a satisfaction survey, which will be sent to researchers who have requested that the CER-UdL review their research protocol since it was launched in 2022;
- Topics covered in 2025 by the French Federation of CERs, including platforms and information and consent;
- Expanding the CER-UdL’s membership, with the call for applications, which will be open throughout 2025. Opening up the CER-UdL to non-academic members is currently under review.
After a morning of fruitful discussions, the CER-UdL then moved on to examine the research protocols submitted, bringing the number of protocols examined since the start of the academic year 2024/2025 to 23.
