[ACADEMIC EVENT] The Université de Lyon, partner of the 2024 Entretiens Jacques Cartier

From October 16, 2024 to October 18, 2024

Organized by the Centre Jacques Cartier (CJC), each year, the Entretiens Jacques Cartier (EJC) [Jacques Cartier Meetings] bring together the main players and stakeholders from the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, Quebec and Canada’s French-speaking communities. The 2024 edition was held from October 16-18, 2024 in Montreal, Sherbrooke, Quebec City and Ottawa.

Academic, cultural, economic and institutional stakeholders took part in French-speaking and cross-disciplinary events, co-organized by two members of the network of Centre Jacques Cartier partners on both sides of the Atlantic. In 2024, the Centre Jacques Cartier celebrate its 40th anniversary, with events focusing on four key topics: health and life sciences, the challenges of innovation and new technologies, economic and eco-responsible challenges, culture and society.

The International Franco-Canadian commission, under the leadership of the École de Technologie Supérieure Montréal and the Université de Lyon, to foster debate and action on Franco-Canadian scientific diplomacy with vice-presidents and vice-rectors in charge of international relations.

The Quebec Higher Education, Research and Innovation meeting, with the aim of discussing the latest developments and how to attract young Canadians to France, and exchanging views on the priorities and issues in terms of research in Quebec and in Canada, in the presence of the Consul General of France in Quebec City-Montreal and the Vice President of Higher Education, Research and Innovation (ESRI) of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region.

A visit to the Université de Sherbrooke, focusing on the “IQ-3IT-C2M” integrated innovation chain, discussions about academic partnerships and student mobility involving members of the Université de Lyon, with the support of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region.

Scientific conferences co-chaired by research professors from the site.

The first edition of the ShapeMed@Lyon Learning Expeditions” by SATT Pulsalys, to support eight project leaders, focusing on entrepreneurial issues in the medical field.
