On The June 13, 2024

33 French institutions are listed in the “THE Impact Ranking”, published on June 12, 2024 by the British Times Higher Education magazine. Among them, six are member or associate institutions of the Université de Lyon.

The Times Higher Education Impact Ranking is the only global performance indicator that rates universities against the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These indicators are categorized to provide a comprehensive comparison in four main areas: research, outreach, stewardship and teaching.

To be included in the overall ranking, institutions must provide data for SDG #17 – partnerships for the goals.

Now in its sixth edition, the THE Impact 2024 ranking includes 2,152 universities from 125 countries. There are 33 French institutions listed in this year’s ranking, 6 of which are from the Université de Lyon:

  • École des Mines de Saint-Étienne
  • emlyon Business School
  • École Centrale de Lyon
  • INSA Lyon
  • Université Jean Moulin Lyon 3
  • CESI School of Engineering

With these six nominations, the Université de Lyon’s institutions represent more than 18% of French institutions ranked in the THE Impact 2024 ranking.

Special congratulations go to the École Centrale de Lyon, which has moved up 2 ranks this year (601 > 401), as well as the Université Jean Moulin Lyon 3 and CESI, which have made their debut in this year’s ranking!
