[AWARD] The Université de Lyon’s Sports Association takes second place in the Challenge 2024

From May 21 to 23, 2024, the French University Sports Federation organized its Annual Challenge 2024 in Vichy. Students from Lyon excelled in the competition, which is part of the Grande Cause Nationale (Great National Cause) 2024, with this year’s competition focusing on physical activity and sports. The results are in!

A total of five institutions from the Lyon Saint-Étienne university site have qualified to take part in the Challenge 2024: Université de Lyon (AS UdL), École Centrale de Lyon, INSA Lyon, ENTPE and emlyon business school.

This unprecedented sports competition was officially opened by Sylvie Retailleau, Minister of Higher Education and Research, in the presence of Gabriele Fioni, Deputy Rector for Higher Education, Research and Innovation for the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes academic region. The event brought together over 1,000 students to compete in 11 different sports!

At the end of three days of intense competition, the Minister for Sport and the Olympic Games, Amélie Oudéa-Castera, presented the trophies to the winning teams:


Congratulations to the UdL Sports Association (AS UdL), which took second place on the “Universities” podium behind the University of Strasbourg, and to INSA Lyon and the École Centrale de Lyon, which took first and second place respectively on the “Grandes Écoles” podium.
