[SIGNATURE] Cooperation agreement with the City of Lyon within the framework of Agora Lyon 2030

On March 24, 2025, the Université de Lyon signed a cooperation and commitment agreement for the ecological transition at Lyon City Hall.

By signing this cooperation agreement, the Université de Lyon has taken an additional step in its responsible approach. Therefore, it is committed to implementing tangible and ambitious actions to actively contribute to the ecological transition.

This agreement marks the beginning of a new chapter for the Université de Lyon and for the region, in close partnership with committed local stakeholders. It is fully in line with the Université’s CSR strategy, in particular its 4th point “Promote the site and anchor it in its ecosystem”.


The Université de Lyon’s commitments in line with the city of Lyon’s climate pact:

  • In line with the “Mobility and Transport” commitment, the Université de Lyon will draft its mobility plan.
  • In line with the “Sustainable Consumption and Waste” commitment, the Université de Lyon will launch a project to determine its needs at campus level in order to develop a sustainable procurement approach, in cooperation with local partners.
  • In a cross-disciplinary manner, the Université de Lyon will implement a scientific on-site strategy from 2025, with subject-specific institutions in particular, which will address social issues from a multi-disciplinary perspective. The work of these subject-specific institutions may contribute to the discussions around Agora 2030 and public policy.
  • In line with the “Involve all professionals in the transition” commitment, the Université de Lyon will offer “cross-disciplinary” and “professional” training modules for all staff working at its institutions.
  • In line with the “Urban development and usage throughout time” commitment, the Université de Lyon will begin work on optimizing the surface areas of university buildings, with willing institutions.
  • In line with the “Energy efficiency in buildings” commitment, the Université de Lyon will continue its efforts to renovate the university’s buildings, in particular 112 buildings covering 380,000 m² that have been deemed a priority.
