Eco-friendly materials for the development of in vitro vacularised tissues

In tissue engineering, producing in vitro organs or part of organs remains a challenge on several aspects. One of the issues that researchers are still facing is producing vascularized tissues, and then implanting these new tissues into the patient’s body by connecting the implant to the vascular system of the patient. Researchers know how to (re)generate vessels, in particular with specific proteins like vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF). However, they still search solutions to fabricate vascularized tissues with blood vessels of different sizes that could allow a direct connection of these new tissues to the ones of the patient, by stitching.
