[OUR CONSORTIUM] Nathalie Dompnier elected President of the Université de Lyon

The members of the Board of Directors of the Université de Lyon, who met on June 18, elected Nathalie Dompnier as President of the Université de Lyon with 29 votes in her favor out of 39.

Upon leaving the Board of Directors, Nathalie Dompnier declared:
I would like to thank the administrators of the Université de Lyon for the confidence placed in me by this vote. I will be keen to carry out the mandate entrusted to me and to continue the action of the Université de Lyon service of the site, its students and the institutions' strategies. The projects are numerous and will require the contribution of all institutions, their communities as well as that of communities, the State and economic players.

“Enabling consultation and cooperation on a collective scale”

In her statement of intent (in French), published on May 27, 2024, Nathalie Dompnier outlined her ambitions for the Université de Lyon:
The Université de Lyon should encourage exchanges and collaboration between higher education and research institutions, within the research community – institutions and national research bodies – and with partners in the Lyon Saint-Étienne academic system, particularly local authorities and social and economic players.

Another priority is the projects conducted by the Université de Lyon for the benefit of its institutions.
The actions of the Université de Lyon complement those of the individual institutions. […] In particular, these are areas where the relevant level of action, in terms of efficiency, clarity and visibility, is at a collective or regional level.
Nathalie Dompnier’s areas of action include student life, research ethics and scientific outreach.
